About the Service

Permaculture is a method of designing and maintaining agricultural ecosystems that are as diverse, stable, and resilient as natural ecosystems. Its goal is to meet material and non-material needs, such as food, energy, and shelter, in a sustainable way. By integrating land, resources, people, and the environment, permaculture aims to create a mutually beneficial system that mimics the closed-loop, no-waste systems found in nature.

Permaculture covers a broad range of topics, including agriculture, water management, energy, construction, forestry, waste management, animal husbandry, aquaculture, appropriate technology, economics, and community development. We use permaculture design to create practices that imitate nature and eliminate waste. Our approach provides diverse, resilient, and sustainable sources of food, water, energy, and shelter.

We study your context and design solutions that address your specific needs, whether in rural or urban settings, and we apply permaculture principles at any scale for you and/or your community.


What to expect from our different permaculture offerings:

1. Onsite Walk through: Receive insight on how to integrate holistic solutions for your property. Verbal recommendations given from on-site observations. No written reports or drawings are included.

2. Beginning design: Initial interview to understand your needs, current capabilities and goals, followed by a single day on-site visit. Verbal recommendations given on-site. Basic written report plus hand drawn map to show the foundational site strategies.

3. Extensive design: Client interview, plus collection of initial data through longer periods of observation on-site. Given top-down analysis to propose new systems. Detailed written report and mapping for your design which will break down each sector.

3a. Add on-site implementation:  Help overseeing selected phases or entire development of your site per the design work delivered during the extensive design phase.
